GETTING  HERE

To get here Pulau Redang or Lang Tengah, you should first visit to Kuala Terengganu (KT). KT is easily accessible by air, by coach or by car. The Jetty is at Merang, KT to Merang Jetty, about 35 minutes away by coach,where you will board a speedboat to Redang. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Sometimes, you may even hop on a speedboat from KT itself, in which case the journey to Redang will take about 1 hour. 
 

If you're headed for Perhentian, you should head for KT or Kota Bharu first, then get to Kuala Besut (90 minutes by road from KT) where you will catch your speedboat for the 35 min ride to Perhentian. 
If you're headed for Kapas or Gemia, head south from KT to Marang (25 minutes by road), and board the speedboat at Marang jetty fo the 10 min speedboat ride to Kapas. Don't confuse Marang with Merang, the departure point for Redang. 

If you're headed for Tenggol, head south from KT to the sleepy town of Dungun, then get on the speedboat for the 35 minute ride to Tenggol. 

 

By Bus / Coach 

Within Malaysia, there are many coaches that depart for KT
from the major cities. Travelling by coach is a great
stress-free way to enjoy the scenic Malaysian countryside. 
Coaches typically make 1 or more rest stops along the
journey for food, refreshments and calls of nature. 

Singapore to KT by Coach
From Singapore, there are fewer choices of coaches. 
Transnasional is the only company that provides regular daily
services between Singapore-KT and Singapore-Kota Bharu.

9am, 8pm: Deluxe coach (S$38 1-way)
9pm: VIP coach (S$45 1-way)
Journey time: about 9-10 hours

By car 

The road system in Malaysia is excellent and driving to the
East Coast is an enjoyable and scenic experience. If you're
driving from KL, head east (Timor) on highway 2 towards
Kuantan. Then proceed northeast to KT on either highway 3
(coastal road) or highway 14. From Penang, head towards
Kota Bharu on the East-West highway (or highway 4) and then
proceed south to Merang or KT.

From Singapore or Johor Bahru, travel north on the
North-South highway and exit at Yong Peng, then follow
highway 1 to Labis and onto Segamat, then onto highway 12
to Kuantan. Then follow highway 3 (coastal road) or highway
14 to KT. 

By air 

MAS (Malaysian Airline
System) operates daily flights between
Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Kuala Terengganu
Sultan Mahmud airport with a flight time of
around 45 minutes. If you're flying from
Singapore or some other country, you will
need to fly into KL and transit there before
catching the connecting flight to KT.


 Air Asia operates
daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and
Kuala Terengganu. It also operates flights
between KL & Kota Bharu in Kelantan. 
From Kota Bharu, there are buses or taxis
that can take you to the other towns.
