GETTING TO PERHENTIAN ISLAND To get to Perhentian, from Kuala Terengganu, head North for Jerteh, than look to the fishing port of Kuala Besut. Boats depart from the Fisheries Complex at Kuala Besut for Perhentian Island. The boat ride takes about 35 min (speedboat) or 90 min (slow boat).
